Birthdays

The rA B-Fit B-Day Challenge ( The Only Entry Fee is Celebrating your B-Day! )

Take your age and in any order:
1) Swim the number of yards in the first number(# multiplied by 1000 yards),

2) Run the number of miles in the second number,

3) Bike the number of miles in the combined number.

So a 45-year-old athlete would:

1) Swim 4000 yards 2) Run 5 miles 3) Bike 45 miles

If you choose to accept the B-Fit B-Day Challenge you must....

Bronze: Do all three (swim/bike/run) during the week of your Birthday.

Silver: Do all three (swim/bike/run) in the three days before, after, or on your B-Day.

Gold: Do all three (swim/bike/run) in 24-hours to celebrate your B-Day!

Platinum: Do all three in miles (swim first number in miles not yards/bike/run) in 24-hours to celebrate your B-Day!

Important Note: Since “0” Birthdays like 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and so on are important milestones the "0" in your birthday represents a 10. This means that on those “0” Birthdays you get to celebrate this big milestone by running ten miles.

Doing the Gold

It was a good day.

Turning 42 was not my favorite thing to do but with the fitness challenge - why not? I took the day off from work to get all of this done in one day.

I got up at 5:20 and was at the pool and in the water by 5:45am. I swam 2000 yards in 56:24 before heading home and taking the kids to school. I have a 2 mile running loop around the house so that was the easy part. 2 miles - 17:50 (a sub 9 min/mile pace with no warm up). Then back to the pool. My back and shoulders were lettin… Continue

correction-swim time

I posted the wrong swim time. I finished in 1:40 not 1:20. Forgot to add the last 800 meters.

Completed Silver

I completed the Silver Challenge on February 1st. Got lucky with the weather on Sunday and did the whole 44 mile bike ride on Sunday afternoon. Thanks to my peeps, Charlotte, Sharen and Linda for biking 44 miles with me. It took us a little longer than expected but we did it!!! 44 mile bike: 3 hours 35 minutes; 4000 meter swim: 1 hr 20 minutes; 4 mile walk/jog: 1 hour.
